TODAY’S MANNA for Friday Dec. 31, 2021

Let God complete His Love in you!

Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
1 John 4:11-12 New International Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Will you Let God complete His Love in you?
Can you imagine what an honor it is to have the Creator of the universe, the Lord God Almighty, living inside of you! But when we love each other, that is exactly what happens. When our hearts are full of love, there is a place made for God and we fulfill His desire for us. He allows us into His Secret Place. When our hearts are not full of love, we leave God little room to do His Work in us. Instead we leave an open door for the evil one to come in and take up residence and produce his sinful character in us. Let God complete His love in you. Love one another with the ‘God kind of’ love!

MY PRAYER…
Abba Father, it is so comforting to know that You are not far away – that I live in You and You live in me. Help me see others with Your eyes, and respond to their needs with Your heart, so that Your love may be complete in me. In Jesus’ name I pray.
Amen

TODAY’S MANNA for Thursday Dec. 30, 2021

Ever Increasing Love

We ought always to thank God for you, brothers, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love every one of you has for each other is increasing.
2 Thessalonians 1:3 New International Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Do you have Ever Increasing Love?
“Increase my faith, O Lord.” “Increase my strength,” “Increase my wisdom,” “Increase my knowledge.” We often pray for these things, but when is the last time you thanked God for your love increasing? Is your love for others ever increasing? Can you think of anything more exciting to say about your church (your brothers and sisters in Christ) than “The love every one of you has for each other is ever increasing!” “Increase my Love, O Lord.” Let’s pray and act to make it so! God will then add the rest unto us.

MY PRAYER…
Holy Father, may Your love so fill us that we cannot help but share it with everyone we come in contact with, especially others who call on Your name as we do. May this love grow and increase in our lives so others may readily see its benefits and recognize that it is a direct response to Your lavish love shared on us through Jesus. In Jesus, Name, I pray.
Amen

TODAY’S MANNA for Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021

Love Your Enemies?

But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward shall be great, and you shall be the sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.
Luke 6:35 New King James Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Did you know we are to love our enemies?
As Christians we are supposed to do and act like our Precious Lord did when He walked on this earth. He says we are to love our enemies and do good to and for them. If we show forth His love to those who are in need and those who would despise and use us, to those where we know we will not get a return back from, then we will receive His reward. He will receive us as His children, children of the most High God. Heirs to the Kingdom of righteousness. And we show forth the true meaning of Christianity — being “Christ” like!

MY PRAYER…
Father I thank You that You have not asked us to do something that You have not already done Yourself and that You have not already equipped us to do. For You have given us Your grace, Your mercy, and Your strength to cope with the things of this world. You have given us a Name that is above all other names. That You sent forth Your Son Jesus, my Lord and Savior, because You so loved the world. The strength and grace You sent through Him more than equips me to carry out Your will. Thank You Father, for the reward You have reserved in heaven for me and for the blessings bestowed upon me now and for the grace to continue to do Your will here on earth. Father I give You all praise and glory in Jesus’ wonderful name.
Amen

TODAY’S MANNA for Tuesday Dec. 28, 2021

The Secret of God’s A.S.K. Principal

If any of you lacks wisdom he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
James 1:5 New International Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Do you know about and understand the secret of God’s A.S.K. principal?
Wisdom is that illusive quality we respect in others, especially in our leaders, and yet find so difficult to develop in our own lives. Solomon asked for it with a pure heart and God gave him great wisdom and also much, much more. God promises wisdom to those who truly, from their heart ask for it. But remember the secret of God’s A.S.K. principal;
Asking, Seeking, and Knocking. Or better yet, check out Proverbs 2:1-11. Wisdom is ours only if we seek it with all our heart and above all other possessions and if we value it above all other diversions. God longs to impart it, but there is something about wisdom that demands we value it before we can receive it.

MY PRAYER…
Heavenly Father, one who gives all good gifts, please continue to bless me with increased wisdom today and tomorrow and from this day forward. Let me reflect Your will and live for Your glory in all my decisions. Let Your Spirit guide my heart as I make my choices and have Your Holy Spirit lead me in all Your ways. I confess, Father, that I cannot guide my own steps without Your help. So grant me wisdom this day Lord to be able to know Your will for my life and follow Your will in all I do. In Jesus name I pray.
Amen

TODAY’S MANNA for Monday, Dec. 27, 2021

Peace that passes all understanding

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
Colossians 3:15 New International Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Peace – wouldn’t it be wonderful to always have total peace in everything you did or said? To have ‘total’ peace all around you! Through Jesus, we can have true peace (shalom) – wellness in body, soul, and spirit. His relationships with others, His victory over sin, death and the grave ensures that we can have that peace, too! That is, if He is your Lord & Savior! So as we receive the Spirit of Christ into our hearts, we can live with our brothers and sisters, no matter how flawed we may be, in a state of peace and love. Peace that passes all understanding, peace that comes only from having a daily relationship with Jesus. Besides, as Paul changes metaphors on us in the last part of the verse, we are the Body of Christ and of course a body does not want to be at war with itself. So live in peace and love with others, and do so with thanksgiving in your hearts, getting our strength and peace from our relationship with God through Jesus our Lord! Because we know Christ Jesus is, “The Truth, The Way, and The Life.” There is no other way!

MY PRAYER…
Blessed Father of all believers, please help me to change my heart so that I can love Your people as You do. I know that as the character of Jesus permeates my life, I will appreciate the preciousness of each of Your children more and will come to see those difficult family members as the grit out of which You will fashion my pearl. I pray that You will continue to give me grace and peace until my heart matches my commitment to love all of Your children just as You love each of them. Through the Blood of Jesus I pray.
Amen

TODAY’S MANNA for Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021

Do you wait for or wait on the Lord?

But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31 NKJV

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Many people read this and believe that it means they are to wait for the Lord to do something for them. They don’t discern the difference between ‘wait on’ and ‘wait for’. To wait on means that you are serving and taking care of, while wait for means that you are waiting for something to happen. See the difference there? Those that are waiting on the Lord are serving Him and in turn He will renew their strength. If you are waiting for Him, you will be waiting a long time because He is waiting until you ‘wait on’ (serve with your whole heart and soul) Him. Wait on is the accurate translation of the Hebrew and more clearly describes what the Lord is requiring here of His people. To those waiting ‘for’ the Lord enjoy the wait, it’ll be a long long wait.

MY PRAYER…
Father, I pray that the eyes of our understanding would opened and that the knowledge of your wisdom would be made clear to us. That your Word would come alive in our hearts and that we would know and understand your will for our lives. That we might be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height, to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that we may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Amen

TODAY’S MANNA for Saturday Dec. 25, 2021

Jesus: The Real Reason for the Season

First, Let me say this: I know that this is not the true actual birthday of Jesus Christ our Lord, He was not born in the winter. But it is the day Christians have adopted and for centuries now celebrated in remembrance of His birth.

What is true is that the church saw fit to consecrate certain days to the Lord, recognizing that the pagan holidays were evil and should be counteracted. So, they would redeem the dates in question by designating Christian observances to fall on those dates. This is not the same at all as adopting pagan customs and holidays. The difference may be subtle, but it is very significant in its difference.

We know that Jesus Christ was not born on December 25. Nor did any of the Church Fathers, who all speculated that His birthday would have been during the Spring, not winter. The earliest reference to December 25 as the observance of the birth of the Lord is in a document known as the Philocalian Calendar, dated to the fourth century A.D.

Keep in mind, it is mentioned only as the date of the observance of His birth, not as the actual date of His birth. We also know from the writings of the Church Fathers that the Donatists also observed His birth on that date.

I don’t care what the original non-Christian holiday or celebration was, that no-longer matters. It is now Christmas, CHRIST IN US. The word Christmas is a shortened version of the term Christ-mass or the story of Christ. No other religion has a day or holiday called Christmas. A holiday that is ALL about ‘giving’. A day remembered because God gave us His very best, His only ‘Son’. And this day needs to be referred to by it’s ONLY name and that name is “Christmas.” This not just some holiday that you can call Happy Holidays, or Kwanza(an FBI created holiday), or xmas(removing Christ from the holiday!), season’s greetings, or the time of the season. It is called “Christmas”, “Christmas”, “Christmas” with a big capital “C” whether those of the world like it or not, it’s Christmas!! If that offends you then maybe you’re living in the wrong country or the wrong century, or maybe you just have a wrong heart! I for one will not bow to the world’s way. If you don’t like our Christmas then maybe you should go back to the country of your choice, but leave our Christmas holiday alone. If someone says happy holidays to me, I will turn around and face them face to face and say “No, It’s ‘Merry Christmas’, it’s Christmas with a capital C.” Check it out “http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkIj94yepfU
Did you know that some try to say the x is Greek short hand for the word Christ in xmas. Well, that may or may not be so, I do NOT believe it. So as far as I am concerned if you can’t write out Christ for the world to see and read, then you must be ashamed of Him. Do you know what the Word says about being ashamed of Him? If you deny Him to the world, He will deny you before the Father. And that means you spend eternity in Hell!

Now for today’s verse:
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
Luke 2:11-14 King James Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
The Savior is born this day. Do you suppose those shepherds of old thought they needed a Savior? What is a savior anyway? Did they comprehend what was being conveyed to them? I don’t know about them, or about you, but if the Angel of The Lord came and spoke to me, I think that I should believe what I was hearing! And if that wasn’t enough, then the whole host of heavenly angels showed up and began praising God! Do you think maybe we should be praising God at this time also. It’s not about gifts and buying and all the now commercialism, it is about ‘The Gift’! Its about giving, God gave us His very best. He emptied heaven of His most valuable gift and ALL for mankind!

MY PRAYER…
Holy Father, I thank You for the revelation of who Your Son really is to me, of the revelation of what today is really all about. Father, I thank You that, when the time was right, You spoke by Your Spirit unto me and revealed Your Son to me. No man made this known unto me, but the Spirit of God revealed it unto my spirit. Father I thank You for saving me, for giving me eternal life with You, for making a way for me where there was none. Father, that I may come boldly before Your Throne of Grace because Jesus, who was born on this day so long ago, has made a way for me. Father continue to reveal unto me the mighty works of Your Son Jesus. Through the glorious name of my Savior, Jesus, I pray.
Amen

TODAY’S MANNA for Friday Dec. 24, 2021

Living By Faith!

Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
Hebrews 10:38 King James Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Do you live by faith?
God says the just shall live by faith in Him!
God tells us in His Word that the just shall live by faith in Him, but who are the just? Who is God talking about here?
According to the Greek word translated here as ‘just’, dikaios, dik’-ah-yos; from G1349; it means: equitable (in character or act); by implication: innocent, holy –just, meet, right (-eous)], so it appears to me that the just are those whom Jesus has cleansed with His Blood. Those who believe that Jesus died for THEM on the Cross that they might become the righteousness of God in Him. Those who have made Jesus the Lord of their lives! These are the ‘Just’ before God.
That means Jesus leads and guides their everyday lives, not just their Sunday Life!
Do you believe it? If you do, then are you living like you believe it? Remember the opposite of faith is fear.
Notice what the scripture above says if we draw back from our faith. If we draw back from faith, God has no pleasure in us because (Hebrews 10:39) when we draw back we draw into perdition [ruin or loss (phys., spiritual or
eternal):–damnable (-nation), destruction, we die, perish, pernicious ways, or
waste away.] So how do the ‘just’ live by faith? The ‘just’ (the Righteous) shall live by faith by calling those things that be not as though they were, just as God does. By believing what God says in His Word even when the natural circumstances are saying something else. Romans 4:17 states “…even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.” ’FAITH’ If God uses faith and we are to be imitators of Him, then why aren’t we using faith also?

MY PRAYER…
Lord God Almighty, forgive my acts of little faith and foolishness. By Your Holy Spirit, help me to cause my faith to grow. Help me to know in my spirit that I am the just, I am the righteousness of You through Jesus. Help me to have the boldness to step out of the boat with You and put my trust in all Your ways and Your Word. Give me courage to fight the good fight of faith and win the race. Through Your Holy Son, and My Lord, Jesus, I pray.
Amen

His Power At Work In You

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen
Ephesians 3:20-21 New International Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
Is God’s Power At Work In You?
Of all the names for God in the Bible, this is my favorite: El Shaddai, Him who is able to do immeasurably more, The God of more than enough! The Great ‘I Am’, I am anything and everything that you need! Our God today is the same God who parted the Red Sea for Moses and then fed 5,000 men (not to mention the women and children who were there with their men) on a green hillside with only a couple of sardine sandwiches and a loaf of bread. And then provided 12 baskets of left-overs! I have personally experienced His provision of multiplication of food, it wasn’t of the magnitude above, but it was still awesome to behold. He longs to do more than we can ask and imagine, but most of us haven’t really given Him much of a challenge or much of a chance. We try to do it all ourselves. Dream big dreams for God. Then step aside and let Him go to work for you and just hang on! Our God is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Heb 13:8). What He did before He will do again and again! Is His Power at work in you?

MY PRAYER…
Almighty and awesome God, do in our day what You did in days past. You said in your Word that You change not, that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. You gave us faith to believe and then You are amazed at the smallness of our faith. Give us vision to see Your plan, to have greater Faith, and to do greater things. We ask this, not for ourselves or our experience, but for a sign to Your people so that the harvest will be large and that Your glory will be great and for the salvation of the world. In Jesus’ name.
Amen

TODAY’S MANNA for Wednesday Dec. 22, 2021

Know who you are in Christ

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16 King James Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY’S VERSE…
You must know who you are in Christ, do you?

God said confess Your faults one to another. He said confess your faults to who? Not a man in confessional booth, hiding behind a screen. I can’t find that anywhere in any Bible translation I have read. That’s right, but I can find that we are to confess our faults one to another and to pray for one another that we may be healed. How do we get healed? Praying one for another! Doesn’t say anything about saying ‘hail Marys’ or counting beads. That’s religious church doctrine strait from the Pharisees and Sadducees! Then He goes on to say that the effectual fervent prayer by a man that is in right standing with Him accomplishes much. How is a man in right standing before God? Answer: He is one who has given his life over to Jesus Christ to be his Lord and Savior, one who is cleansed by the Blood of Jesus, that is a man in right standing before God.
The word translated from the Greek here as ‘effectual’ means : to be active, efficient, be mighty in, shew forth self, work (effectually in). To be “on fire-white hot!”
We must renew our way of thinking, You say, “Well if I were righteous I would do that!” Do you know who you are in Christ? Are you His child? Are you bon again? Have you made Jesus your Lord and Savior? “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.” Gal 3:26 Are you a born again believer who has made Jesus Christ your Lord? Then you are righteous before God! (2 Cor 5:21 KJV) “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.”
Because of what Jesus has done for us on the Cross, we are righteous. I didn’t say that, the Word of God did!

MY PRAYER…
Father, I thank You for Your Word. I thank You that You have set forth Your will for us in Your Word. Father, I thank You that You have told us we should pray for one another. That You have actually given us authority in Your Word to pray for one another. I thank You Lord that I know my prayers are heard by You and that they accomplish much because I am righteous in Your eyes. Jesus has made me so with His precious Blood. Help me Lord to keep my heart pure and to do Your bidding Lord. In Jesus’ Holy name and by the power of His precious Blood I pray.
Amen
